No One Is Immune From Acne
By Louise Forrest
It does not seem to matter what your racial background is, as no one is immune to the effects of acne. Acne is very common amongst teenagers and there are those who are unfortunate to see adult continue into their adult lives. On the positive side those who do develop acne in their teenage years generally see an improvement in the appearance of their skin as they approach their thirties. But having said this there are some people who never seem to be able to get rid of their acne no matter what they do.
One of the problems with acne is that it does more than affect the skin. It can make people feel very conscious about their appearance and some people just refrain from meeting with people and would rather stay at home. After all if you are going out with a group of friends who have great skin, and then there is with you with a severe outbreak of acne, you are going to feel less adequate and will quite easily develop a complex about your appearance.
It can be made worse when you think that people are staring at you because of your acne and as a result people of the opposite sex will not want to go near you or even speak to you, because of the ugly marks that are currently on your skin. Some people are not that well informed and will believe that the condition is actually contagious or that it is a result of having a poor sense of personal hygiene.
So just how can you clear your acne as quickly as possible and without causing any complications? Well before you reach for the nearest cream that you can grab you need to understand the problems of acne and just what the problem actually is before you can deal with it.
All that acne is a disorder that is taking place within the body and as a result the glands that are within the skin are causing more oils to be secreted. As a result when dead skin cells become trapped in the pores of the skin, together with bacteria and excess oils then is when acne lesions develop on the surface of the skin. Acne is not just for the face and can appear on the back, chest and also the shoulders.
There are some very rare instances that acne can actually be passed from parent to child, but as mentioned this is very rare indeed. It is more than likely due to any hormonal imbalances that are within the body. There are some myths that you should avoid foods such as chocolates and fried foods. Whilst there is no real evidence that these may cause acne, you should not under any circumstances have a diet that is based on these types of foods only.
Make sure that you are getting a well balanced diet and that you are drinking plenty of water. Foods such as chocolates do not need to be stopped but their intake should be significantly reduced.
