Jesus The Great Comforter! When Life is not fair!

We see it all the time in people's lives someunwanted circumstance enters and life is turnedupside down. A loss of a job, an unexpected bill, sickness you name it. I think we have all said atone time or another, "gosh, life just doesn't seemto be fair. It does not suppose to be this way; itwasn't what I had planned."

We hear about it all the time in people's livessomeone leaves a marriage, a friend disappointsyou when you need them the most, or someone is notthe person you expected them to be. Ourexpectations in others sometimes just never seemsto be met.

We experience it at times in our own lives whenlife and love come together and all we come upwith is the absence of logic. We rack our brainsto find some reasons or rationales for events orpeoples behaviors only to find ourselves left withmore confusion and frustrations.

Was life fair to Jesus? Absolutely not! Did peopledisappoint him? You bet! Did events in his lifenot make sense to him at times? Probably so! Butthrough it all even up until the time of his deathJesus had a passion for giving people comfort inthe midst of events, unmet expectations and timesof no rhyme nor reason. One of the Passions Jesushad was he is the great comforter. "Come to me allwho are heavy laden and I will give you rest."the bible says. Yet nowhere in the bible does hesay that our lives will be perfect. Nowhere doeshe say others will always live up to ourexpectations, and nowhere does he say that we willunderstand it all. But what he does say allthrough out the bible is when; life, love andlogic disappoints come to the cross and lay ourburdens down. There is no other place than on ourknees that Jesus would rather us be. It is in ourquestions of life, our disappointments of others, and our times of confusion where we find the mostcomforter in Jesus.

If we wait until life is 100 percent, loved onesare totally to our liking, and we try tounderstand everything about them both, life maynever be lived, love may never be found and we maymiss out on the true meaning of why Jesus died onthe cross for us. Romans 8:28 does say, "And weknow that all things work together for good tothem that loves God, to them who are calledaccording to his purpose." Jesus wants us to lovelife, love others and love him that is the truemeaning of life.

This week when life isn't fair, disappoints ariseand things don't seem to make any sense rememberJesus is our comforter and it's at the cross wherehe died that we can lay our burdens down.
