Many people who have or who have previously had acne know what it's like having to start your day washing or preparing your face and having to stare at those annoying acne scars in the mirror every morning before your daily activities.
Acne scars may be pesky little annoyances right now, but these marks do not need to be a permanent issue because there are many natural healing remedies you can use to remove and avoid them.
What are acne scars?
An acne scar can develop where a blemish once was. According to dermatologists, there are three types of acne scars. Atrophic scars are characteristically shallower while ice pick and boxcar-shaped scars are generally deeper. Scars on light skin may be red while those on darker skin may be dark and time in the sun darkens their appearance. Scar tissue cells have a naturally higher content of melanin (which is probably natures way of protecting weak areas of the skin).
Scars are mainly comprised of collagen, a protein fiber present in the second layer of your skin. Acne scars are formed as part of the natural repairing process. Indentations are usually caused by a loss of collagen from the acne lesion itself. Picking or popping pimples can damage collagen further and speads the acne spot wider and deeper. The best way to reduce scarring is to handle blemishes as little as you can and apply a nourishing natural acne treatment that helps to keep collagen intact and stimulate cell growth and the collagen renewal process.
Several natural substances known to help acne scars are:
Calophyllum oil: extracted from seeds of a Tahitian tree, this calms, soothes and heals skin. It also helps tp stimulate collagen production
Galbanam oil: from an Iranian flowering plant, it combat inflammations and heals scar tissue on skin
Lavender oil: extracted from the lavender plant, this essential oil is soothingm calming and antibacterial
Tea tree oil: this helps to treat acne bacteria deep into the skin preventing future breakouts
How to make an Acne Scar Serum:
You can make a scar removal treatment by blending 15 drops galbanam oil and 10 drops of lavender oil with one ounce of calophyllum oil. Wash your skin then use a cotton swab or ball to apply a small amount directly to acne effected areas. A moisturizer or makeup can be applied once the oil is absorbed. Use this daily to stimulate cell regeneration and repair damaged skin.
You can also use almond oil to lighten scars and skin in general.
Here is an even more powerful recipe you can make if you have time:
Combine:
3 tablespoons rose hip oil
3 tablespoons argan oils
3 drops each of carrot seed and rose oils
2 drops of frankincense, myrrh, neroli, and sandalwood oils, and one drop of patchouli oil.
Blend well and apply to clean skin twice a day.
You can also make a simple recipe using 1 tablespoon of Rosehip and 6 drops of Carrot seed oil. This is a regenerative oil blend and because it is rich in essential fatty acids is very nourishing and moisturizing as well.
You don't have to put up with with acne scars, if you apply these remedies daily, you can avoid scarring and regain your clear blemish free complexion.
