See if they will let you transfer accounts with high interest rates onto cards with low interest rates. This will make your month to month payments easier. Try to establish a good relationship with your lenders and you will be rewarded over time.

    No New Debt!

    Do not acquire new debt while you are paying off your cards. This will be your own little test. Don't ever use your credit cards because this will only set you back and keep you from achieving your goals. In the mean time you should establish a plan to pay off these debts. Mark your achievements on a calendar and make specific goals by certain dates. This will add motivation to your story. You can keep track of your progress and reward yourself or reset your goals as time goes along.
