Company Logo Design

By Kevin Stith

A logo design, commonly known as a logo, is the graphic element of a trademark or brand, set in a special font or arranged in a particular but legible way. The color, shape, typeface, etc. of a logo should be distinctly different from others on the market. It is a graphic representation symbolizing one’s organization. It is designed for instant identification and can appear on company letterhead and advertising material, and is a way an organization can easily be recognized.

The most crucial aspect of logo selection is developing the logo concept. A logo talks about your company and should have an image related to the business, like a house for real estate or a car for a car dealer. A logo can just be an abstract image also representing the company’s philosophy; for example, a pyramid or a blocky image for a stable, trustworthy company. A young, modern and high-technology company can use orbits and swooshes, sparks, or particles to create a dynamic image.

There are certain important points to consider while designing a logo. First, a logo should be attractive and should create a unique personality of the company. Designing and developing a logo is one of the most challenging aspects of graphic designing. A detailed and colorful logo can be more expensive than a simple logo design. One should also work on the size of the logo, and it should look good both on a signboard and on company’s letterhead. There are a number of logo design companies who use new and innovative techniques. One should pick up the most attractive and cost-effective logo. As soon as you choose your logo, you should trademark it, which will prevent competitors and other third parties from stealing it. Lastly, keep your logo short and simple, make it catchy and competitive.
